Result
The results that have been achieved are the following: - Improved organizational sustainability, and are strengthened to implement projects aiming to increase women's empowerment in targeted areas in Syria through trainings,MANGO assessment, and tailored capacity building plans for each of KtK's partners, where overall improvements related to the capacities in financial planning and management, project management, monitoring on results and internal processes, such as development of guidelines and policies have been noted with different partners. - Capacity of Partner Organisations (PO) strengthened in advocacy and lobbying to address discriminatory norms, laws and policies in local governance and ensure a space for women's participation in the process of rebuilding Syria. Some examples are the following: Meetings with relevant stakeholders (representatives of OHCHR and the Commission the Global Adviser on Restoring Family Links and Missing Persons at the ICRC etc... were conducted. - Contribution to women's active and qualitative participation in decision making on local and national level, including peace building through POs, where KtK's Syrian partner organisations have initiated, developed and implemented a number of activities in order to strengthen structures, skills and confidence for increased participation in various processes on national, regional and local levels with the support of Kvinna till Kvinna. - Kvinna till Kvinna supported POs access to capacity building opportunities and sought to streamline activities at the regional level, providing opportunities to access support from other actors like UN bodies, and continued to build on previous capacity building initiatives. Overall, the goal of 83% of Partner Organisations of KtK with capacity needs plans were achieved for 2022. Over 660 000 women and men were reached through GBV awareness raising by POs in 2022. Innovative regional online campaigns by POs on GBV were able to reach thousands of individuals. As a result of the continued increase in GBV and demand on services, Kvinna till Kvinna supported POs to prevent and respond, including access to UN-led referral pathways, organise workshops to improve hotline and shelter procedures, improve emergency responses and assess national gaps in protection services
The overall objective of the intervention is to achieve increased capacity of women's rights organisations and women's human rights defenders to contribute to strengthening women's participation and the respect and advancement of women's rights. For the MENAFEM programme there have been four outcomes formulated: 1. Strenghtened women's organisations. 2. Advocacy for changes to law, policy and practice that promote women's rights and gender equality and an enabling environment for women's human rights defenders. 3. Prevention of and protection against gender-based violence. 4. Increased women's political participation.
