General question: Results related to the intended outcome 2015Question: Summarise results related to the intended outcome (this information will be sent to Open Aid)Answer: During the eigth year of the mandate (September 2014-September 2015), the International Commission Against Impunity in Guatemala, CICIG, investigated and revealed a long array of corruption cases within the Guatemalan State, the most well-known the so called "La Línea" in which the former President Otto Perez Molina and former Vice President Rozanna Baldetti are involved. The criminal case "La Línea" also include those who used the corruption network. According to CICIG, at least 340 companies have paid bribes through "La Línea" in order to avoid import taxes. Other corruption cases revealed by CICIG involve for example the social security system, the Congress, and the police. In total 183 persons were brought to Court based on criminal investigations by CICIG. The criminal investigations involved high-level State officials, at administrative employments as well as within the legislative, executive and judging Powers. In total CICIG presented 20 requests to remove imunity from high level State officials.
