After initial progress in in preparing for the stabilization and extension of the landfill area the project has been on a stand-still since 2018 due to the technical situation on the ground and due to administrative delays. After a decision in 2020, the project was under closure and repayment in 2021 and final closure under 2022.
The intervention "Dubuko extension: regional solid waste managment in Serbia" was decided upon by Sida in 2014 with the aim to secure a landfill area in the Dubuko region in Serbia from landslides and make a necessary extension of the area, as well as to build capacity for waste management by the Public Utility Company (PUC) Duboko. The intervention has taken place under the EBRD-Sida Municipal Environment and Climate Program.
