Result
The evaluation clearly advised the Embassy not to continue with further support to the MEDT in the are of trade and that any support to the area must be based on a clear value-add from the Swedish perspective. The evaluators made further very strong statements about the lack of sustainable results that the Embassy was compelled to take very seriously in consideration of future support.
The main objective of the evaluation was to determine the impact and efficiency of the projects “Institutional Cooperation between the Department for WTO and Trade Defence at the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine andSwedish National Board of Trade” and “Trade Policy and Practice in Ukraine”. Specific attention was also to be paid to sustainability, methods for capacity development, and the capacity of MEDT to take on additional trade-related projectswith DCFTA linkages
