Resultat
In 2023, UNICEF made significant achievements both in terms of improving child protection and education to vulnerable Yemenis. The following are aspects are specifically highlighted by UNICEF in its annual reporting within the relevant sectors: 5,664 children in contact with the law (32 per cent girls, 68 per cent boys) accessed free legal aid, diversions and centre and community-based reintegration services. 399,204 children (42 per cent girls, 58 per cent boys) received birth certificates. 328,898 people (140,528 girls, 143,543 boys, 28,814 women, 16,013 men) received mental health and psychosocial support (MHPSS). 59,857 adolescents (41,868 girls, 17,989 boys) were supported through life skills education. 17,446 children (36 per cent girls, 64 per cent boys) were reached through case management services. 37,108 children (48 per cent girls) provided with nonformal education opportunities. 303,521 children (47 per cent girls) benefitted from school rehabilitation. Over 6 million people across Yemen received messages on the importance of education. 1,233,177 children (47 per cent girls) received learning materials. 527,313 children supported to take part in the national exams.
Outcome of the programme The programme aims to ensure that children, adolescent and women in Yemen are better protected and have increased resilience to vulnerabilities which put them at risk of violence, abuse, neglect and harm through a holisic support to respond to the needs of children experiencing child rights violations and ensuring access to basic services. Outputs 1. Children at risk or those experiencing child rights violations have better access to quality responsive and protective protection services. 2. Children have better access to quality basic services linked to health, nutrition and education to reduce their vulnerabilities to experiencing child rights violations. The programme is designed to suport multi-sectoral interventions to maximize the impact for children, addressing multiple deprivations and vulnerabilities. The programme builds on two components: Component 1: Response to child rights violations targeting the most vulnerable children through the provision of quality preventive and protection services, systems strengthening and capacity development. Component 2: Preventive intervention to reduce vulnerabilities for children at risk of child right violations through the mainstreaming of and access to basic services.
