General question: Results related to the intended outcome 2016Question: Summarise results related to the intended outcome (this information will be sent to Open Aid)Answer: Significant results attained towards realization of the intended outcome include: Component 1: Establishment of the Transformation Initiative as the mode of sector coordination and operationalization of the Intergovernmental Secretariat (IGS) with functional Technical Working Groups to enhance National/County governments coordination; formation of 485 functional value chain partnerships through which extended value chain concepts were implemented; finalization of a functional MIS for programme monitoring; development of a sector M&E framework; and support to development of the new Agricultural Policy. Component 2: About 58,000 (67% males, 33% adult females and youth) Value Chain Actors trained on NRM/CC related risk out of which 26,500 were linked to weather/climate information and using climate smart technologies (69% adult males, 31% adult females and youth); linkage/involvement of local Value Chain Actors in weather information dissemination and development of climate risk management plans; and linkage of over 4000 vulnerable Value Chain Actors to private and public social protection service providers. Component 3: Support of 152 county partnership projects on capacity building of value organizations valued at BKES 1 (with ASDSP contributing 38% to leverage partners resources); 152 investments by value chain actors were implemented through the extended concepts coordinated by the Value Chain Platforms; development of 5 additional financial products in collaboration with Kenya Commercial Bank (a Sida/USAID credit Guarantee partner); support to development and establishment of 3 agro-value chain technology incubation centres; and development of a value chain micro site prototype to disseminate value chain based information, linking agro producers to agro trader’s.
