EcoPeace Middle East is a Jordanian-Palestinian-Israeli organization that seeks to advance cooperative efforts to protect the shared environment, promote sustainable regional development, and create conditions for contributing to peace in the region. For over two decades, EcoPeace Middle East has worked on cooperation over shared environmental issues, in particular water issues, for advancing concrete solutions. Sida has funded EcoPeace since 2009 and the new project proposal is phase IV of the Good Water Neighbors Programme and will focus on i) encourage young people and young professionals to become agents of change for regional cooperation; and ii) advance major financial and administrative commitments needed to set the stage for PPP/ private sector investments in water, energy and food security projects.

Results
Expected results
The overall objective of the project is to enhance water, energy and food security in Jordan, Palestine and Israel through regional cooperation.

The primary goal for the ShaRED Sea proposal is to:
Reduce harm to marine life and biodiversity by preventing waste, particularly plastic waste, from reaching the Red Sea and would fully replace the amendment signed on December 6, 2018.
Results
The activities of main GWN project were completed successfully in end of August 2022, however the ShaRed-sea component is extended until end of June 2023 and progresses well.
