Expected results
The overall objective of the program is "to contribute to the development of a Palestinian society that embraces freedom of expression and produces knowledge and art". Results
The Programme exceeded the expected outcomes which is well illustrated in the quantitative benchmarks of the logframe. The Programme "distributed grants in the amount of US$3.2 million to 13 partner organisations and collectives in the West Bank and Gaza Strip. US$1.6 million were distributed to eight partners in the first round of funding (2017-19), while US$1.5 million were provided to 10 partners in the second round of funding (2019-21), among which six partners benefited from the first round of the project funding. To respond to the projects three major outcomes, the overall objective and purpose, 41% of the grants amount covered administrative expenditures (outcome #1) and 59% covered programmatic expenditures, of which 64% were utilised by partner organisations and collectives to support artists and audience building programmes (outcome #3) while 34% supported educational institutions and their programmes (outcome #2). Data shows that most of the grants (56%) were provided to organisations based in the Ramallah Governorate, 17% to organisations and collectives in Gaza, 11% to organisations in Jerusalem and 11% to organisations and collectives in Bethlehem, and 5% to an organisation in Tulkarm, showing a diverse spread for resources. In addition, all partner organisations worked with and supported artists, art students, and art professionals from all over Palestine and beyond."
