General question: Results related to the intended outcome 2015Question: Summarise results related to the intended outcome (this information will be sent to Open Aid)Answer: The outcomes of bianet´s activities have aimed to realize the following results: - IPS, through bianet, is a well-recognized and widely used source for independent, pluralistic and unbiased news provision and information sharing. - IPS is an enabler of the rights movement through monitoring and reporting. - IPS is a trainer and mentor for journalists and the journalistic profession on rights-based reporting. - IPS as a sustainable and effective organisation. What differs bianet from other online news portals is that bianet continues to attract visitors in an increasing manner. This shows that there is a need for an independent news portal that informs readers on rights which mainstream media very rarely covers, and when covered, in a manner that misses the rights angle . IPS is the only organisation in Turkey providing regular training and resource materials on rights based journalism. The applications for the summer school have always been higher than the number of available places and the number of participants has been increasing every year. This also goes for the internship positions at IPS. The material IPS is producing is still in demand even though the material is accessible through internet. Work to improve the monitoring and evaluation of the organisation has begun and the willingness to continue is assessed by Sida as strong.
