KAMER: En möjlighet för varje kvinna 2014-2017

Due to the ongoing conflict in the region it was not possible for Sida to observe the results in the field and the information is based on the reports and other supporting documents that are provided by Kamer. Also the reporting is highly activity based and not results based at all. Even though the organization has received a 2 days workshop on RBM together with other Sida supported NGOs, it is not very possible to say that there has been a significant improvement in reporting. It is highly limited to quantitative data therefore making it difficult to grasp the change they have aimed. Outcome 1: Strengthening the Kamer Team It is reported by Kamer that the activities that are carried out during this term has strengthened Kamer and the team as aimed. Only a minor part of the activities could not be realized in full and the rest of the activities went according to plan. Under this component Kamer has produced an Implementation Manual for KAMER’s structural and organizational empowerment and has managed to strengthen and enhance the competencies of KAMER Team through adopting new values and approaches to develop alternative ways of living instead of traditional values and approaches. Outcome 2: Women’s Human Rights It is reported that Kamer has managed to increase sensitivity and awareness on gender-based roles which result in violence and discrimination based on these roles and their adverse impact on human psychology through the “household meetings” and “neighborhood meetings” and the “small group practices” that they have had. Kamer has also continued to establish sustainable collaborations with individuals, organizations and institutions with increased awareness and enhanced sensitivity through visits of over 3000 public institutions and more than 5000 officials. The organization has also continued introducing new strategies through sharing of information and experiences among individuals, groups and organizations engaged in activities to establish gender equality both at local and international levels. It is also important to say that men have also been targeted in this work in order increase awareness and to establish collaborations. One of the main work areas of Kamer which is to provide immediate support to women who are exposed to violence or a probable honor-based killing continued and the numbers that Kamer reached are quite significant. Kamer has not provided information on their outcome of “reaching consensus regarding the violence study methodology, identifying shortcomings in practice and pursuing troubleshooting - through joint studies and collaborations made with all organizations and institutions involved in the field of violence against women”. Outcome 3: - Women and Children Will Change the World Eventhough the aim of this component is to enhance awareness of women, families, public organizations and the society on the importance of early childhood education based on alternative approaches, to contribute spreading early childhood educational practices, the results reported by Kamer are somewhat different than these. It is seen from the reports that Kamer has managed to increase awareness and sensitivity on violence against children and early childhood sexual abuse and their effects of the children with the families and individuals they have engaged with.   Outcome 4: Women Entrepreneurship In line with Kamer’s aim at developing approaches that will contribute to economic /financial strengthening of women, Kamer has managed to increase women’s awareness on economic violence and their economical rights and these can be seen from the figures as well and has continued to contribute to KAMER’s financial sustainability.
