General question: Results related to the intended outcome 2015Question: Summarise results related to the intended outcome (this information will be sent to Open Aid)Answer: In general, the first half of the year 2015 for KHHRG was successful in terms of legal support provided and won cases, however, in comparison to the same period of 2014, less effective in terms of applications for legal aid received. The main activities in the reported period were legal aid and advisory services for IDPs, support and facts finding activities for former civil and military prisoners, visibility events to raise the common awareness on key human rights issues etc. A special focus was also devoted to the KHRG activities in the area of policy drafting. For the reported period, this work was intensified and mainly covered the following reform priorities: a)police reform and pilot projects within the area in Lviv region. Mr. Zaharov is a member of the expert council under the Ministry of Interior, what gave the organization additional value in the policy dialog and reform facilitation; b)reform of law enforcement agencies, in particular system of penalties; c)new law on access to public information and its practical implantation in Ukraine. In 2015, KHHRG was heavily engaged into elaboration of a new Human Rights Strategy in Ukraine, which was finally approved recently. Now, the organization will contribute with its expertise to drafting of the action plan towards implementation of the HR Strategy.
