The example of results, is based on the last narrative report within this contribution covering 2023. No narrative report for the full agreement period has been requested and established as an agreement condition. During 2023 SOC has delivered results within all three of the pillars in the results assessment framework, and within all of the 12 thematic areas within the pillars. Below is a presentation of a few examples from each of the three pillars: Pillar I Established legal framework and policy framework for human rights across BiH: * 16 members of the parliament of the Federation of BiH support the adoption of a special law regulating issues of samesex unions: After five years of constant advocacy work by SOC, this group of parliamentarians from different political parties is willing to support legislative inititatives and engage in informed discussion, which can contribute to changing and counteracting homophobic attitudes and open up for positive legislative changes. * A research study on abortion, giving an overview of the existing legal regulation and medical practices was published: this area of work is relatively new to SOC, and the objective is to establish informed cooperation with leading health institutions, raise awareness to the problems of limited access to abortion healthcare services and also to contribute to improving the understanding of abortion as a human right and as a basic healthcare. This work will continue in 2024. * Promotion of paternity leave proposed as one of the measures in the Gender Action Plan for the Sarajevo Canton for the period 2024 2028: SOC has been appointed member of a working group on the new Gender Action Plan for the Sarajevo Canton based on SOC's research in this area, promoting paternity leave to facilitate mothers' access to the labor market. Minster of Labor of FBiH have confirmed that SOC's proposed amendments to the Labor Law, will be taken into account when the Labor Law will be subject to amendments during 2024. Through public events SOC creates the possibilities for LGBTI individuals to meet, connect and to be empowered in advocacy and human rights protection. 50% of the legal counceling inquiries were due to hate crime and hate speech. * Strengthening of the Initiative for Monitoring European Integration of BiH and the informal UPR coalition, by building capacities of 23 members: in 2023 SOC continued to empowering civil society to more effectively monitor, report and advocate for the imporvement of human rights, rule of law and democracy. The work within the Initiative and the UPR coalition, grew stronger thanks to 5 training sessions and planned activities. * 173 health workers underwent SOCtraining, 7 public officials attended training on trans rights, 22 politicians were educated on key issues relevatn to gender equality and LGBTI rights, 12 lawyers completed training program on samesex partherships and 346 police cadets at the Police Academy were educated on hate crimes and hate speech: all training activities have led to more engaged and more knowledgeable professionals within key areas, contributing to building an inclusive approach to human rights in BiH. SOC is continuing to work with these areas of work within the new strategic framework for 20242028. See new contribution support to SOC for 20242027, contribution 16806.
